2. George Washington
Before Washington became President, he was best known for spearheading the American’s victory over the British despite having the odds against them. He is highly regarded as a strategic genius when it comes to war.
After winning America’s independence, he wanted to retire but saw that the new nation wasn’t going to function well, so he pushed for the Constitutional Convention in 1787 that decided how America was going to be governed. After the new Constitution was ratified, Washington was unanimously elected the first President and would lay the foundation of the presidency for all of time.
