Manchester Man Forces Council To Fix Potholes By Drawing Penises

An anonymous hero took action in Manchester after becoming increasingly frustrated by the numerous amounts of giant holes in the streets. The self-proclaimed artist who signs his drawings as “Wanksy” realized that penises were a sure way to get the city to notice. His signature name is an obvious tip of the hat towards the famous “Banksy” street artist.

Potholes around the roads of Manchester were not being filled, some of the holes causing problems for many months. The man proclaimed to BBC that if he drew a penis around the hole, suddenly everyone was reporting the issue because everyone took notice. This forces the council to ensure the hole is filled up and the drawing removed.

“The roads of Manchester are in an appalling state, I have a cyclist friends who have been hospitalized.” – Wanksy

Is this the correct route to take? In the UK the laws on vandalizing public property are very strict. Graffiti on public property, for example, is illegal. Anyone caught doing graffiti can be immediately arrested and prosecuted under the Criminal Damage Act 1971. This could potentially mean 10 years in prison or fines of over £5,000.

The artist “Wanksy” does not buy into this onlook though. His drawings are done using industrial chalk, which though is quite durable is not permanent. After a couple of weeks, the drawings will wash away on their own. And locals are singing their praise to the anonymous hero – in an agreement that this is not vandalism, it is just a unique way of ensuring a job gets done.

Predictably the local council does not share their views. They have asserted that a penis shape around a hole in the road will not make a pothole get fixed any faster. Yet despite their claims, these potholes do seem to be being filled faster. You can only imagine that with more people calling the council to complain they will move quickly to get these dangerous holes off the street!
