Alarmingly High Suicide Rates

The suicide rate of young Native Americans is over triple the national average and on some reservations, the number skyrockets up to 10x the average. According to research, there are several factors that can be attributed to the high suicide rate including poverty, sexual abuse, domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction, and unemployment.

Another alarming statistic is that young Native American adults are two times as likely to die before the age of 24 as any other ethnic group in America.
