They Invented Popcorn
Native Americans developed and harvested many plants that are still extremely important today. Plants like potatoes, beans, peanuts, corn, cotton, tobacco, chocolate, and even rubber.
They also invented popcorn. The oldest popcorn known to date was found in New Mexico and can be dated back 5,600 years ago. It’s believed that at first they used it fashionably, putting them on their necklaces, etc, and later discovered that you can actually eat them too.
