Dr. Dre Owes His Billion Dollar Fortune To Jimmy Iovine

The Chronic, Dr. Dre’s 1992 solo album, was released by Death Row Records, with marketing and distribution handled by Interscope and Iovine. The Chronic was one of the top selling albums in 1993 and garnered Dr. Dre a Grammy Award for the single “Let Me Ride.” It helped to propel Dr. Dre to the forefront of hip-hop in the 1990s. For an encore, he produced Snoop Dogg’s debut album, Doggystyle, which went quadruple platinum.
