Ethan Hawke’s breakthrough role was in Dead Poets Society, the hit 1989 drama, when he was still a teen. Although he had continued success as a young actor, he broadened his skills as a mature actor. Among his numerous film credits are The Purge, Training Day, The Magnificent Seven, Boyhood, Before Midnight, and First Reformed. Hawke is more than just an actor, however.
He is also a writer and director. He has written three novels, directed a documentary, three off-Broadway plays, and three movies. Hawke has been nominated for Tony Award and four Academy Awards. Hawke has learned much about the entertainment industry since his first foray into the industry in the 1980s.
