As a teenaged actress in the 1996 film Manny & Lo, one critic wrote of Scarlet Johansson “if she can get through puberty with that aura undisturbed, she could become an important actress.” That comment has proven to be prophetic. After appearing in Home Alone 3 in 1997 and The Horse Whisperer in 1998, Johansson was ready to move into more adult roles, which included the 2003 romantic comedy, Lost in Translation and the Sofia Coppela-directed Girl with the Pearl Earring.

Since then, her acting career has been an eclectic mix…ranging from Broadway musicals to a playing Black Widow for Marvel Studios, and even lending her voice to the computer operating system love interest in Spike Jonze’s film, Her. Johansson’s volume of work has proven that long-ago critic right.
