Celebrities With Famous Parents

26. Maya Rudolph

Maya Rudolph was a quintessential cast member of SNL in the early 2000’s, appearing on the show for 8 years from 2000-2007. She has also starred in many hit comedy movies, including Grown Ups, Idiocracy, and most notably Bridesmaids.

If you haven’t seen her on SNL, in addition to doing impersonations of Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama, she also does spot on impressions of Christina Aguilera and Beyonce (including the singing). She can thank her mother for her incredible singing voice. Minnie Riperton was her mother and she is most famously known for her hit single “Lovin’ You”.

Unfortunately Minnie’s career came to an abrupt halt when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was told she only had 6 months to live. Instead of giving up, she continued to tour and create music even after receiving the diagnosis. She died at the tender age of just 31, before even seeing her daughter turn 7, let alone become a famous celebrity.
