24. Freddie Prinze Jr.

Freddie’s father was Freddie Prinze. Prinze Sr. was a very popular comic back in the 70’s. After doing standup at New York comedy clubs like The Improv, he made his television in 1973 on Jack Paar Tonite. Later that year, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Prinze Sr. was most famous for his work on The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. He was one of the guest comedians that roasted some of the most famous people of that time, including Sammy Davis Jr. and Muhammad Ali. NBC saw star potential in him and signed him to a $6 million 5 year deal. Sadly, just 4 months later, Prinze, who suffered from depression, took his own life by shooting himself in the head. Freddie Prinze Jr. was only a year old at the time.
