They soon invested $500,000 into a new app that uses a smartphone’s GPS to summon a private taxi driver who is using his or her own vehicle. This app was called — you guessed it — Uber.

A-Grade’s share of Uber is now valued at more than $60 million.

The next year, Kutcher and his partners gave $300,000 to the online prescription eyeglass retailer, Warby Parker. This investment saw a seven-fold return.

A $1.5 million investment in an app called Houzz devoted to interior design, landscaping, and architecture realized a six-time return. And it didn’t end there…
