Adopted 6 Year Old Daughter Turns Out To Be a 22 Year Old Sociopath

Samuel Reason | September 25th, 2019

In a story that you can trace straight back to a fictitious horror movie called Orphan, released in 2009, an American couple from Indiana actually lived the horror film in reality. The couple had agreed to an emergency adoption of a little girl from Ukraine aged six in 2010. Little did they know they were actually adopting a crazy 22-year-old.

Kristine Barnet and Michael Barnett, from Lafayette Indiana, were tracked down to Canada in 2013 and arrested. The charges were for child neglect, abandoning their 6-year-old daughter called Natalia in their apartment in Indiana. But this is where the story gets crazy, they advised no they had never abandoned a child because they advised their daughter was actually 22 years old. They advised she was a dwarf posing as a child.

The story becomes even crazier when they announced she was also a sociopath who had tried to poison them several times and pushed Kristine into an electric fence. In fact, at the worst times, she had even attacked a baby.

You may disregard this as some horrible parents trying to get out of these criminal charges, but as it turns out, the truth has already been confirmed in court. The Barnetts legally changed their daughter’s name in court several years ago, when witnesses from Ukraine and also medical doctors testified that their daughter was, in fact, 22-year-olds and not a child. Natalia had been submitted to a psychiatric facility for several years, and once she checked out of the treatment center, no one really knows what happened to her.

Apparently, Natalia would regularly hide knives in their couch and claim that she was going to kill family members. She even would watch them while they slept and would then announce she was waiting for the right time. Doctors confirmed that Natalia was suffering from a severe psychological illness that would only ever happen to an adult, furthermore, she had adult teeth and she had periods.

A crazy story that really only should exist in a horror movie, but as it turns out, it was real life!
